Warning: Do not engage in a pie related conversation with this man. If you hear him warming up to one, avoid eye contact, pretend to see a friend across the room or simply back away slowly. DO NOT RUN! He is a retired rugby player and will pursue you and perhaps make a tackle.(But thankfully not below the knees.)
This is my pie obsessed husband Britt. And, like Rain Man with numbers, he will begin to name every pie I've ever made and the positive attributes of each one. Then, if you're not lucky enough to excuse yourself by then he'll begin a history of his pie eating; describing which pies he used to like compared to his new favorites. Mind numbingly, he will finish up with a diatribe on pies vs. tarts. How tarts are pies' enemies and that they should not exist because of their gelatinous fillings and cookie like crust.
But, he is the reason Pie Fridays exists and the reason you guys get such great pies. I never would have started baking them if he didn't consume them with so much utter joy. All together now "We love you Britty!"
Here are some photos of pies Britt consumed last Pie Friday. Brownie, Cherry and the incredibly ugly but delicious, Pumpkin with Ginger Cookie Crust.
