Welcome to Pie Fridays!!

I have quite a few bad personality traits. I'm short tempered and impatient. I watch too much tv, cry when Federer loses and I have a very grating voice quality. There are two things I am good at though:baking pies and pouring a strong drink. My name is Sunde and I bartend at the Rite Spot in San Francisco. For the past couple of years I've been baking all sorts of pies at my house and bringing them in on Friday nights.
I make some standard pies that everyone's tried before but usually I invent my own. To celebrate our first Hawaiian president I made an Obama Pie-Pineapple coconut macadamia crumble. I've made apple toffee, mocha pumpkin, mango raspberry crumble, tangelo blueberry pie and many others that you'll be able to read about here.
Being able to bake an excellent pie is like having a secret super power. You arrive at the party as just another guest and you leave a super hero, your nerdy disguise glasses crushed in the stampede of party goers rushing to get a slice of key lime. Just as Batman, a mere mortal, became a super hero through his own inventiveness, some sort of strength training and passion for getting the bad guys, you can become a pie superhero. With my blog's recipes, instructions, advice and photos you can rise from the ashes of mediocre pies and become your own pie hero!

  1. Sunde's pies are the awsomest ever!!! DELISH!!! Also, in her profile she forgot to mention that she's more than a pie artist, but also an artist artist (paintings and such). My favorite pie is the pumpkin pie. I'm drooling already at the idea of a wonderful pumpkin pie with sweet crunchy crust...

  2. Awesome pie pics!!! Yes Sunde's voice is loud and she *will* yell at you. But like the coconut macadamian crumble crust on the Obama pie, the salty exterior masks a deliciously sweet soul.
